Hey travelers! I’m Mehek, a digital health analyst with a passion for travel! I’ve been to 29 countries in the last 25 years, and I’ve set a personal target to get to a total of 45 by the time I’m 45! I’ve lived in Dubai, Mumbai and NYC, so expect to find lots of personal posts about these lovely cities 🙂
I’ve been wanting to start a blog for the last 2 years, but just never knew what to write about! On a recent trip to Europe, I struggled for vegetarian food options. Luckily, a close friend had been to all the same places a few months ago and being a food blogger herself, she had taken detailed notes on all the amazing restaurants she visited (with special note of places with good veggie food)! That list turned out to be a life-saver. Thanks Priyanka!
Prior to this trip, I also spent almost a month reading travel blogs and making notes of all the offbeat things there were to do in the cities I was visiting. I ended up taking a graffiti workshop in Prague, getting the best coffee of my life at a 1900s coffeehouse in Vienna, and visiting some funky ruin bars in Budapest – none of which I would have discovered just through TripAdvisor or the likes. I realized just how great personal perspectives on travel are, and how they help you uncover little secrets around the world. I hope I can do the same through this blog!
Why Maps and Magnets? “Maps” because I’ve got a huge world map on my wall, on which I pin every city that I’ve ever visited. “Magnets” because I love to collect a magnet from every city I’ve been to. The cover image of this blog is from the maps and magnets in my room 🙂
Here are some of my stories from my travels: itineraries, offbeat things to do, veggie food options, history and culture, and lots more!
